A celestial gap. Investigation into the use of the couronnement in Paris, 1829-1929

The research focuses on the
couronnement as an archetypal element, attempting to employ it as a methodological tool for reinterpreting and reshaping the city. Historically, architectural theory has been grounded in a focus on the floor, often neglecting the human aspirational reach toward the sky.
This work aims to reclaim the dignity of an often-overlooked
fifth façade, the celestial one, the one that faces the sky.
