Valentina Di Chiara (b. 1993) is an architect, independent researcher and documentary filmmaker.
Born in Italy, she lives and works between Paris and New York.

Since 2019, her artistic practice lies at the intersection of research, installation and documentary film.
Valentina’s work explores the relationships between the fabrication of space and the construction of its inhabitants’ identity, with a particular focus on contemporary urban and social issues.

Valentina holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic School of Milan and the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris-Malaquais (HMONP). She also studied Documentary filmmaking in Paris under the mentorship of author, director and professor Gilles Boustani.

In 2019, Valentina was awarded a Research Grant from ENSA Paris-Est.
From 2019 to 2021, she contributed to the release of several art and architecture books with
Éditions Cosa Mentale-Caryatide.
Her work has been exhibited in academic settings and featured in different group exhibitions across France.

Currently, Valentina is an artist-in-residence (2024-2025) at
Cité Internationale des Arts, supported by an Artistic Research and Creation Grant from Académie des beaux-arts de Paris.
She alternates between commissioned films and personal documentary projects, continuously investigating the interplay of city, human body and identity.
